Elisabeth Ullmann

Elisabeth Ullmann stammt aus Zwettl, Niederösterreich. Studien an den Musikhochschulen in Wien, London und Salzburg: Orgel, Schul- und Kirchenmusik. Prägende Lehrer ihrer Orgelausbildung waren Michael Radulescu und Alois Forer. Meisterkurse bei Anton Heiller, Marie-Claire Alain und Harald Vogel. Erste Preise beim Internationalen Johann Sebastian Bach-Wettbewerb in Leipzig (1976) und beim Anton Bruckner-Orgelwettbewerb in Linz (1978). Lilli Lehmann-Medaille der Internationalen Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, Diapason Award und Mozart-Flötenuhr Wien, Organist of the Year 2006 (organ), Aufnahme in die European Academy of Sciences and Arts (2009), Großes Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um das Bundesland Niederösterreich (2017), Ehrenzeichen der Stadtgemeinde Zwettl für Verdienste um die Kultur (2020). Lehrtätigkeit an der Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, von 1988 bis 2014 als Professorin für Künstlerisches Orgelspiel. Langjährige kirchenmusikalische Tätigkeit u.a. als Gastorganistin an der Wiener Augustinerkirche (ehemalige Hofkirche); Initiierung und künstlerische Leitung des Internationalen Orgelfestes Stift Zwettl 1983-2008, seit 2010 Orgelkunst Ziersdorf. Einladungen zu Solokonzerten, Gastspielen mit Orchester und Meisterkursen in Europa, Israel, USA, Canada, China und Hong Kong; Jurorin bei internationalen Orgelwettbewerben; Rundfunk-, Fernseh- und CD Produktionen bei Teldec, MDG, IFO-Classics, Organ und Edition Lade.


Originaire de Zwettl (Basse-Autriche), Elisabeth Ullmann a fait ses études musicales à Vienne, Londres et Salzbourg: orgue, musique d'église, enseignement de la musique. Au nombre des professeurs qui ont marqué sa formation d'organiste figurent Michael Radulescu et Alois Forer. Master classes auprès de Anton Heiller, Marie-Claire Alain et Harald Vogel. Lauréate (Premier prix) du Concours international Jean-Sébastien Bach de Leipzig (1976) et du Concours d'orgue de Linz (1978). Médaille Lilli Lehmann de la Fondation internationale Mozarteum Salzbourg. Prix du Disque allemand, Diapason Award et Mozart-Flötenuhr à Vienne. Organist of the Year 2006, membre de la European Academy of Science and Arts (2009), Grand Insigne du Mérite du Land Basse-Autriche (2017), Insigne du Mérite culturel de la ville de Zwettl (2020). Enseignement (orgue) à l'Université Mozarteum de Salzbourg de 1988 à 2014. Pendant de longues années pratique de la musique d'église, notamment à l'Eglise des Augustins à Vienne (autrefois Hofkirche). Création et direction artistique du Festival international d'orgue de Zwettl de 1983 à 2008 et du Festival Orgelkunst Ziersdorf depuis 2010. Performances comme soliste ou avec orchestre et master classes données en de nombreux pays: Europe, Israel, USA, Canada, Chine et Hong Kong. Membre du jury de concours d'orgue internationaux. Productions radiophoniques et télévisées, production de CD chez Teldec, MDG, IFO-Classics, Organ et Edition Lade.


Elisabeth Ullmann was born in Zwettl, Austria, and studied organ, pedagogy and church music at music academies in Vienna, London, and Salzburg. Michael Radulescu and Alois Forer were the teachers who played a formative role during her education. She completed master classes with Anton Heiller, Marie-Claire Alain and Harald Vogel. Her first awards were won at the international Bach competition in Leipzig in 1976 and at the Bruckner Organ Competition in Linz in 1978. Further milestones have been the Lilli Lehmann Medal of the International Foundation Mozarteum in Salzburg, German Phonograph Record Prize, Diapason Award and Mozart Musical Clock (Flötenuhr) Award Vienna, Organist of the Year 2006, admission to the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2009, the grand order of merit for services to the Lower Austrian Province of Austria in 2017, and order of merit for services to the arts from the city of Zwettl in 2020. Elisabeth Ullmann lectured at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and from 1988 to 2014 was professor of artistic organ performance. Guest organist at St. Augustin in Vienna, initiator and artistic director of the International Festival at the Austrian Zwettl convent from 1983 to 2008 she has been actively engaged in performing sacred music. Since 2010 she has been involved with the art of organ performance in Ziersdorf, Austria. International solo concerts, guest performances with orchestras and master classes. Radio, television and CD productions have been issued with Teldec, MDG, IFO-Classics, Organ and Edition Lade.
